  • Hello Edina, I just wanted to write and say your string duet made the night more beautiful and memorable than I could have planned or imagined. You gave my wife an evening she said she will never forget. Thank you for everything! Your playing is simply devine and to be envied.

FAQ

What can I expect if I hire you for my wedding ceremony?

You will have live music for up to an hour. This includes about 20 minutes of prelude music to create a wonderful atmosphere while your guests are seated. For the ceremony, you are welcome to select your favorite tunes for the entrance of mothers, grandmothers, bridesmaids and groomsmen. And, of course, for your entrance. If requested, we play mid-ceremony music at those times you feel need music. This can be a very special touch if you choose to light a unity candle. We then play for the recessional. Altogether, the ceremony music typically lasts about 30 minutes. This gives you approximately a full hour of music.

Does the string duo play for outdoor events?

Absolutely. Our only concerns are the safety of our insruments and enough warmth for our fingers to move. Experience has shown us that we cannot perform in temperatures below 60°F. (Thankfully, in Dallas and Fort Worth, this is not generally a concern!) At temperatures lower than that, we must have adequate supplemental heating. We regret that we cannot perform in the rain. Our violins are made of wood and cannot be exposed to direct rain or very high humidity where the moisture is appearing on surfaces, as it will cause them to warp. We regret that we cannot be responsible for weather related cancellations. All remaining balances are due and must be paid. We enjoy playing outdoors in our wonderful Texas warm weather 🙂 However, our violins are a bit more picky. They really must avoid direct exposure to the sun as this causes the instruments to warp and this diminishes the sound quality. For this reason, we require complete shade while using our instruments outdoors in hot weather.

Please return these selections to us at least a week before your wedding, or sooner if possible. We can and would be delighted to create a completely customized experience for your wedding, reception, or party, and we can consult with you to make certain all your favorite songs are in our program. We will need you to arrange for us 2 armless chairs where you wish us to sit an hour before your wedding ceremony starts. We will take care of everything else. Our setup time is about 5 minutes, so your coordinator will have plenty of opportunity to come by to talk to us about cues and any additional final details.

With our PRINCESS package we provide beautiful live music for You and your guests up to one hour. This includes about 20 minutes of prelude music to create a wonderful atmosphere while your guests are seated. Please gives us a hint whether you prefer the traditional classics or contemporary songs or maybe a mix of both. For the processionals you are welcome to select your favorite tunes: one song for the entrance of mothers & grandmothers, one song for the bridal party and of course, the main song is for Your entrance. You may need us to play some short, pretty music in the middle of your ceremony. This can be a very special touch if you choose to light a unity candle, pour unity sand or during communion. Can I pick the songs for my wedding ceremony?

We have more than 200 traditional and contemporary wedding songs in our repertoire. You may pick one song for the parents seating, one song for the bridal party processional, one song for the bride, the mid-ceremony song (if needed), one song for the newly weds to exit and one song for the guest exit. Please pick every song from our list. If you can not find your favorite song in our list (check with us, because we may actually have your song, just it may not be displayed on our website yet), we can do a custom song arrangement for you. It takes about 4-5 hours to create a custom arrangement of a pop song for strings, so we do charge for this service, but we are very good at it 🙂
